Horizontal Tub - Water Quality

Start Here

If you live in an area with hard water or poor water quality, we strongly recommend using a hose pre-filter when filling your tub. Many customers in places like Florida use a pre-filter to help prevent cloudy water, discoloration, and mineral buildup.

First Things to Check

  • When did you last change the filter and water?
  • Is water flowing from the jet inside the tub? You can place your hand against the jet to check.
  • Are you rinsing off before plunging? Oils, sweat, lotions, and soaps can affect water quality quickly.
  • Is the ozone timer set properly? We preset the ozone to run automatically overnight for 4–6 hours. Double check that at least 6–8 pins on the timer are pushed down.

The quickest way to reset the water and start fresh is usually to drain the tub, replace the filter, and refill with fresh water.

Prevention Tips

  • Rinse off before entering the tub
  • Use a  hose pre-filter when filling
  • Keep the tub covered when not in use
  • Replace filters & water regularly
  • Avoid overusing chemicals — the ozone system handles most day-to-day sanitation needs

Additional Troubleshooting

1. Water & Filter Change

A clogged or restricted filter can reduce water flow through the jet. If you have not changed the filter or water within the last month, this should be your first step. 📹 Check out our Maintenance Instructions & Videos.

2. Water Flow

Make sure water is flowing from the jet inside the tub.

  • If water is flowing from the jet, the pump is operating properly.
  • If there is little or no water flow, drain the tub so the water level is about 1 inch below the jet and take a video 📹(video example). Then please send a video here so we can review the flow and confirm whether it is normal or advise next steps.

3. High Volume Use or Chemical Balancing

If your tub gets frequent use or you prefer using chemicals to help maintain water quality, check out our Sirona Chemical Kit. These can help balance and sanitize the water.
