Troubleshooting & Common Questions
Chiller
Not Staying at the Set Temperature?
Small Temperature Fluctuation – Normal Operation: To protect the compressor and extend its lifespan, the chiller uses Smart Cycling with a built-in 3-degree dead band. This means:
- If you set the temperature to 50°F, the chiller will shut off at 50°F and won’t turn back on until the water reaches around 53°F.
- This small temperature fluctuation is completely normal and ensures better long-term performance.
- Want the water to stay closer to your target? Try setting the temperature a few degrees lower (e.g., set it to 48°F if you want the water to hover near 50°F).
Chiller Not Cooling? Try This:
-
Check the Display
Make sure the chiller is turned on, the desired temperature is set, and the screen is showing the current water temperature. -
Listen for the Chiller
The unit should make a gentle hum while cooling. If it's silent, it may be in standby mode or not actively cycling due to Smart Cycling. -
Check Airflow
Ensure there’s at least 12 inches of space around the vents. Blocked airflow can lead to overheating and reduced efficiency. -
Inspect Water Flow
The chiller relies on constant water flow. Make sure the pump is running, and the filter has been changed within the last 2–5 months. -
High Ambient Temps
In hot outdoor conditions, cooling will take longer. For best performance, use the tub in a fully shaded or indoor space. -
Power Off and On
Turn off the chiller, unplug it for 30 seconds, then plug it back in to reset the system. - Still Not Cooling?

Ozone System
-
Automatic Operation: The ozone system comes set to automatically kick on at midnight for 1 hour.
-
Adjusting the Schedule: To change the runtime, use the white timer dial inside the unit, located on the left side panel.

Murky Water
If your water appears cloudy or discolored, try these steps:
-
Drain & Refill the Tub: If it's been a while since you last changed the water, this should be your first step.
-
Increase Ozone Duration: You can increase how long the ozone generator runs using the ozone timer dial.

- Consider Usage Levels: High user volume (especially in commercial settings) requires more frequent maintenance. We recommend using our Maintenance Chemical Kit — available on our website — to help maintain clean, clear water.882441468103.pdf

Understanding Valve Positions
Open Valves: Valves should be parallel to the plumbing when the tub is in regular use or being filled.
Closed Valves: Turn valves perpendicular to the plumbing to stop water flow — especially important when changing filters or servicing the unit.
Experiencing Leaks?
- Close All Valves: Ensure both valves are fully closed (perpendicular to the plumbing).
- Check Connections: Confirm that all chiller hoses and the water filter are firmly hand-tightened.

Where Should I Place My Cold Tub?
For optimal performance and durability:
- Place the tub indoors or in a fully covered outdoor space.
- Avoid direct sunlight to prevent surface heat buildup and preserve the exterior finish.
What Should I Do in the Winter?
During freezing temperatures:
- Follow best practices outlined in our Winter Performance Guide.
- Proper care will help protect your tub and its components from freeze damage.
How Do I Clean the Surfaces of the Tub?
Tub Body
- Use Armor All Spray (Amazon Linked) to clean and restore shine.
- Always wipe away dust or debris before spraying.
Foam Decking (Tub, Lid, Step)
- Use Simple Green (Amazon Linked)
- Check out this Cleaning EVA Foam Video for tips on cleaning EVA decking on boats.
